LeBron James Wants Kyrie Irving To Join Lakers ‘More Than Anyone’

LeBron James is pushing hard for the Los Angeles Lakers to trade for Kyrie Irving this offseason, according to Marc Stein.

The Lakers are hoping to convert Russell Westbrook and possibly future draft compensation into Irving or some other combination of players that help return the team to title contention after a disappointing 21-22 season.

The Lakers have been the team with the strong interest in acquiring Irving, who spends a considerable amount of time in Los Angeles, previously played with James, and also had interest in playing with Anthony Davis in the past.

“It stems from repeated rumbles in circulation that LeBron James is rooting hard for Irving’s addition to the roster,” writes Stein.

“James, I’m told, wants to see Irving in Lakerland more than anyone.”
