Laquon Treadwell Comments After His Release

Wide receiver Laquon Treadwell is now a free agent after getting released from the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Jaguars were his third team in seven seasons after the Minnesota Vikings took him in round one of the 2016 NFL Draft.

He played 12 games for Jacksonville, finishing with a career-high 434 yards and a touchdown.

Aside from the Vikings and the Jaguars, Treadwell also spent one season with the Atlanta Falcons.

He suited up for five games with Atlanta, tallying 49 yards and two touchdowns.

But after his release from Jacksonville, Treadwell seems to have high hopes regarding his next NFL destination.

He tweeted, “MY FUTURE SO BRIGHT!”

He must be referring to the team’s disappointing record over the last four seasons.

After reaching the 2017 AFC Championship Game, the Jaguars went 5-11 in 2018.

Worst yet, they only had one win in 2020 and three in 2021.

The Jaguars felt that they did not need Treadwell anymore after signing Zay Jones and Christian Kirk.

Those players joined their current wideouts Marvin Jones Jr., Laviska Shenault Jr., and Jamal Agnew.

Where Will Treadwell Land?

Twitter users who responded to his post generally expressed disappointment with his release.

They argue that Shenault should have been cut instead of him.

Treadwell also seems to be a favorite by both fans and the media.

However, those realities might not change his prospects for 2022.

After all, his best year came in last year, with 434 yards.

That number might not be enough to change coaches’ minds when they are building their rosters.

But if they are talking about potential, Treadwell might just land a gig with another NFL team.

His experience will still be handy as he capitalizes on his lone season with the Jaguars.
