Lanes reopen after fatal crash on Texas 16, BCSO says

One man is dead after a crash with an 18-wheeler near Helotes, the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said. The map shows the approximate location of the accident.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office reopened the lanes of Texas 16 near Helotes after deputies closed it for several hours due to a fatal crash Friday morning.

Deputies responded to the crash between a pickup truck and an 18-wheeler around 6:20 a.m. in the 22500 block of Texas 16. Upon arriving, deputies said the driver of the pickup truck was dead.

At the time, officials closed the northbound lanes of Texas 16 for several hours as deputies investigated.

The driver showed no signs of intoxication and no criminal charges have been found at this time, BCSO said.

BCSO has not released additional details.
