LaMelo Ball Suffers Season-Ending Injury, Seeking Second Opinion

Charlotte Hornets rookie point guard LaMelo Ball is feared to have fractured his right wrist, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Widely considered to be the frontrunner for the 2021 Rookie of the Year Award, Ball will get a second opinion on the injury.

Ball is averaging 15.9 points, 6.1 assists, 5.9 rebounds and 1.6 steals in 28.6 minutes per game this season, shooting .451 percent from the field and .375 percent from 3-point range.

According to ESPN’s Stats and Info, the third overall pick’s numbers are comparable to Hall of Fame point guard Oscar Robertson’s rookie season when extrapolated to their per 36 minute counterparts.
