Knicks locking in Josh Hart with $81 million extension
Josh Hart said his preference was to be with the Knicks long-term and now it appears that will be a reality.
The two sides are finalizing a four-year, $81 million extension, ESPN reported, on the first day that Hart is eligible to be extended after he opted into the first year of his contract.
Hart will earn $94 million through 2027-2028 season.
The 28-year-old was a major factor for the Knicks after coming over in a trade from the Trail Blazers.
The Knicks won the first nine games he played in and Hart was a vital part of the team winning its first playoff series in a decade.
By opting in, and taking less money this year, Hart created cap space for the Knicks to sign his Villanova teammate, Donte DiVincenzo.
