Key stats from the 49ers’ 38-13 Week 18 win vs. the Cardinals

The San Francisco 49ers finished the season with a 13-4 record after a 38-13 Week 18 win over the Arizona Cardinals at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

• San Francisco finished the regular season 13-4, marking its best regular season record since 2019 (13-3) and the 3rd time since 1998 that the team won 13-or-more games in a single season.
• The 49ers finished the regular season undefeated in divisional play for the first time since 1997 and for the first time since the NFC West was realigned in 2002. It marks the 5th time since at least 1970 that the team did not lose to a divisional opponent in the regular season.
• The Niners have won 10-consecutive games, marking the team’s longest win streak since 1997 (11 games – Week 2-13; Week 6 BYE).
• San Francisco finished the regular season 8-1 at Levi’s Stadium, marking its best regular season record at home since 1998 (8-0).
• The Niners improved to 34-29 overall against Arizona, including a 19-14 mark at home.
• The 49ers (13 wins) finish with the most wins by a team who had 3 QBs start 2-or-more games since the 2016 New England Patriots (14-2).
• The 49ers held its opponents to 277 pts. on the season, the fewest in the NFL and by a 49ers team since 2013 (272 pts.).

• San Francisco held its opponents to under 300 pts. in a season for the 6th time since 2000 and for the first time since 2013.
• The 49ers have held its opponents to 77.7 rushing yds. per game this season, the 3rdfewest allowed by a 49ers team since 1970.
• The 49ers defense held Arizona to 61 rushing yds. It was the team’s 11th game this season allowing 70-or-fewer rushing yds., which matches the most registered by an NFL defense since at least 1970 (2010 Pittsburgh Steelers & 2000 Baltimore Ravens – 11 games).
• The 49ers offense has registered 30-or-more pts. in 8 games this season, including 5 of the last 6 games.

• The team’s 8 games with 30-more pts. is tied for the 4th most in franchise history since at least 1970 and marks the first time since 2019 they accomplished the feat.
• San Francisco’s 38 pts. marked the 3rd-consecutive game with 37-or-more pts., which matches the longest streak by the team since at least 1970.

Brock Purdy

• QB Brock Purdy completed 15 of 20 atts. for 178 yds., 3 TDs and a 141.2 passer rating.
• With the win, Purdy became the first QB in franchise history to win his first 5 NFL starts and the 3rd rookie QB in NFL history to win at least his first 5 starts.

Most Consecutive Wins By A Rookie QB To Begin A Career, NFL History

• With 2 TD passes, Purdy became the only QB since 1950 to win his first 5 NFL starts and throw 2-or-more TD passes in each game. The 3 TDs gave Purdy 13 TD passes this season, the most by a rookie QB in franchise.
• Purdy has thrown 2-or-more TD passes in 6-consecutive games, becoming the first 49ers QB since QB Jeff Garcia (8 games) in 2001 to regis­ter 2-or-more TDs in 6-consecutive games or more.
• Purdy became the 3rd player in NFL history with at least 2 TD passes in each of his first 5 career starts (Dan Marino & Billy Volek).
• Purdy became the 2nd rookie in the Super Bowl era to register 2-or-more TD passes in 6-consecutive games and the first since Los Angeles Chargers QB Justin Herbert in 2020 (7-consecutive games).

George Kittle

• TE George Kittle registered 4 recepts. for 29 yds. and 2 TDs on the day.
• Kittlehas registered 1-or-more TD recept. in 4-consecutive games, marking the first time in his career he accomplished the feat. Kittle is the first member of the 49ers to register 1-or-more TD recept. in 5-consecutive games since TE Vernon Davis in 2013 (5 games, Weeks 15-18).
• With 29 rec. yds., Kittle (5,254) passed Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce (5,236) for the 3rd-most receiving yards by a TE through his first 6 seasons in NFL history.
• With 2 TD recepts., Kittle registered his 4th game in 2022 and the 5th game of his career with 2-or-more TD recepts. Kittle is the first NFL TE since 2013 to register 4-or-more games with 2-or-more TD recepts. (TE Jimmy Graham, NO – 5 games) and the first member of the 49ers to do so since WR Terrell Owens in 2002 (5 games). Kittle’s 4 games with 2-or-more TD recepts. are the most by a 49ers TE since at least 1970.
• Kittle’s 11 TD recepts. in 2022 were the 3rd-most in a single season by a TE in franchise history (Vernon Davis – 13 in 2009 & Vernon Davis – 13 in 2013).

Christian McCaffrey

• RB Christian McCaffrey registered 10 carries for 45 yds. as well as 3 recepts. for 34 yds and 1 TD through the air.
• The TD recept. marked his 5th of the season and the 22nd of his career. It marked McCaffrey’s 6th-consecutive game with a rushing or receiving TD, the 2nd-longest streak of his career [7 games with 1-or-more TD in 2019 (Week 3-10; Week 7 BYE)].
• With 79 scrimmage yds., it gave McCaffrey 1,210 as a member of the 49ers. The most by a midseason addition in NFL history.

Elijah Mitchell

• RB Elijah Mitchell registered 5 carries for 55 yds. and 2 TDs. The 2 TD rushes were his first two of the season, gave him 7 in his career and marked the first game of his career with 2-or-more TD rushes

Brandon Aiyuk

• WR Brandon Aiyuk registered 4 recepts. for 59 yds.
• With 59 rec. yds., Aiyuk reached 1,000-or-more rec. yds. (1,015) in a single season for the first time in his career.

Tashaun Gipson Sr.

• S Tashaun Gipson Sr. registered 2 tackles and 2 INTs of Cardinals QB David Blough on the day. Gipson finished 2022 with a team-high 5 INTs on the season. He now has 32 INTs in his career.
• With 2 INTs on the day and 1 INT last week at LV (1/1/23), it marked the 5th time in his career that Gipson has registered back-to-back games with 1-or-more INTs and the first time since 2019 as a member of the Houston Texans [Weeks 5-6].
• It marked his 4th career game with 2-or-more INTs and his first since 2017 as a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars [2 INTs at Pit. (10/8/17)]. Gipson Sr. is the first member of the 49ers to register 2-or-more INTs in a single game since DB Jimmie Ward [2 INTs at LAR (11/15/21)].
• His 141 INT yds. in 2022 are the most by a member of the 49ers since 2003 (DB Tony Parrish – 202 INT yds.).

Nick Bosa

• DL Nick Bosa registered 2 tackles and 1.0 sack. With 1.0 sack, it gives him a career and NFL-high 18.5 on the season and 43.0 in his career.
• His 18.5 sacks on the season are the 2nd-most in a single season in franchise history and the 2nd-most by a member of the 49ers in his first 4 seasons [LB Aldon Smith (19.5 & 44.0)].
• Bosa became the 4th player since 1982 to record at least 1.0 sack in 13 games in a single season, [DeMarcus Ware (14 games in 2008), Justin Houston (13 in 2014) & Chandler Jones (13 in 2017)].

Air Jordan

• DL Jordan Willis registered 1.0 sack and 1 FF of Blough, marking his 2nd sack of the season and giving him 10.5 in his career. The FF was Willis’ first since 1/2/22 vs. Hou. and the 3rd of his career.

Michael Dwumfour

• DL Michael Dwumfour registered 1 tackle and 1 FR, marking the first FR of his career.

Samson Ebukam

• DL Samson Ebukam split a sack of Blough, giving him a career-high 5.0 in 2022 and 23.5 in his career.

Charles Omenihu

• DL Charles Omenihu registered 0.5 sack of Blough, giving him a career-high 4.5 in 2022 and 11.5 in his career.

Robbie Gould

• K Robbie Gould connected on a 27-yd. FG and each of his 5 PATs. With 8 pts. on the day, Gould finished the year with 131, tied for the 6th-most in a single season in franchise history.

George Odum

• S George Odum registered 3 special teams tackles, giving him an NFL-high 21 on the season. Odum’s 21 special teams tackles are the most by a member of the 49ers since at least 2001. Odum is 1 of 3 members of the 49ers to register 20-or-more special teams tackles in a single season since 2001 [LB NaVorro Bowman (2010) – 20 tackles, RB Terry Jackson (2003) – 20 tackles].
• Odum also registered 1 INT of Cardinals QB Trace McSorley, marking his first INT of the season, 3rd of his career and first since 11/21/21 at Buf. as a member of the Indianapolis Colts.
