Keldon Johnson’s career night led the Spurs in another close loss to the Lakers
A calendar event commemorating a full revolution around the sun doesn’t necessarily mean things will change overnight, but for the Spurs there is hope that 2021 will bring new fortunes. Their loss to the Lakers two nights ago already felt like it was a year ago, and although tonight’s rematch was closer and more competitive throughout, the good guys still lost to the defending champions.
Keldon Johnson’s career high scoring night (with a 26-10 double-double for good measure) gives the Spurs added hope that good fortune comes sooner than later. Tonight, his endless energy on both ends of the court and stroke from downtown (5 for 9) were welcomed highlights for the Spurs:

If I was the commissioner, I would ban any player from doing the Euro Step unless they play for the Spurs. Luckily for Keldon Johnson, he’s a Spur. Luckily for the Spurs, he’s improving before our eyes:
Perhaps the most welcome sight of the night was the return of Derrick White from toe surgery, and he had an immediate impact, even in limited minutes. Welcome to 2021, Derrick! Stay awhile and keep making moves like this:
