Jurgen Klopp provides fresh Trent Alexander-Arnold injury update ahead of Liverpool vs Watford

Jurgen Klopp spoke to the media on Friday ahead of Liverpool’s next outing.

The Reds will face off with Watford in Saturday’s early Premier League kick-off. Ahead of the game, Klopp held his latest pre-match press conference on Friday.

The German would discuss a number of topics in his presser, including team news. Trent Alexander-Arnold picked up an injury before the March international break and there was some speculation that the defender could miss Liverpool’s huge game with Manchester City later this month.

However, comments from Klopp on Friday suggest Trent could have a chance of returning vs Watford, which indicates he will almost certainly be back for the City game on April 10th:

“He trained yesterday in parts of the session and he will train today,” Klopp said. “Then we will see what we do. It will be tight for tomorrow.”

Liverpool vs Watford

Liverpool head into the Watford game as the Premier League’s in-form side.

Liverpool have won five of their last five, have scored the most goals in the English top-flight this term and boast the third-best defence.

Watford, on the other hand, are in simply woeful form. The Hornets are 18th in the PL ahead of gameweek 30, three points away from 17th-place Everton who also have two games in hand.

Roy Hodgson’s side have lost three on the bounce and have the third-worst defence in the division at present.

Should Liverpool win this weekend and Manchester City lose, the Merseysiders will go top of the Premier League as they are currently only one point adrift of the Citizens.
