Josh Jacobs Is Feeling The Effects Of His Big Game

After a 303-yard rushing performance, Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs is slated to miss a fair amount of practice this week.

After a long day of running 303 yards on any stretch of the field, most Americans would need to be put on the IR for at least four weeks.

For an NFL athlete like Jacobs, while he is in a considerable amount of pain, he will likely be ready to play on Sunday.

The Raiders, presumably, are more than happy to give Jacobs rest this week, as they are preparing to play the Los Angeles Chargers.

Playing The Field

The Chargers are the second-worst run defense in the league.

If there was ever a week for Jacobs to be fully healthy, it would be this week.

The Chargers allow 133 rushing yards per game to opposing backs and have also surrendered ten rushing touchdowns to running backs on the year.

Jacobs is having a banner year, averaging 5.4 yards per carry, en route to 1,159 total yards on the season.

Who knows?

Against an abysmal Chargers defense, Jacobs could easily break his single-game record of 303 yards, provided that he is fully healthy.

If for some reason Jacobs is unable to play on Sunday, the Raiders will look to their backups, Ameer Abdullah and Zamir White.

Both White and Abdullah have done well in relief of Jacobs this year.

However, the Raiders want Jacobs to be their main bell cow back.

Here’s hoping that he can rest, and play similarly to how he’s performed in the past few weeks.
