Jorginho’s agent rules out Arsenal exit

The future of Italian midfielder Jorginho at the Emirates Stadium has recently been shrouded in uncertainty.

After making a noteworthy move from Chelsea to Arsenal in a £12 million deadline day deal, Jorginho’s place in the team seemed unsure.

Despite making 16 appearances for the Gunners in the latter half of the previous season during their unexpected Premier League title charge, the midfielder did not secure a regular starting position under Mikel Arteta’s management.

Jorginho’s Prospective Reunion with Sarri at Lazio

Numerous speculations have surfaced regarding Jorginho’s future, with a potential return to Serie A and a reunion with former Napoli and Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri at Lazio being the most prominent.

However, Jorginho’s agent has recently confirmed that the midfielder has no intention of leaving Arsenal.

Agent’s Confirmation and Jorginho’s Happiness at Arsenal

In a statement made to Italian TV, Jorginho’s agent, Joao Santos, expressed the player’s contentment at Arsenal and emphasized their focus on the upcoming season.

Santos stated, “Jorginho is very happy with Arsenal, who have a very important championship to play. At the beginning of August, there is the Community Shield against Manchester City.”

“There is no negotiation with Lazio. I don’t know if they have the money to pay the player, but that’s not the question. He stays really well at Arsenal, and in our mind, for the next season, there is only the Gunners.”

Arsenal’s Midfield Revamp

Currently, Arsenal finds itself amidst an intense bidding war with Manchester City for the highly sought-after West Ham captain, Declan Rice.

Moreover, the Gunners are eager to explore the possibilities of their imminent £65 million signing, Kai Havertz, who primarily played as a striker during his tenure at Chelsea.

Arsenal believes Havertz can thrive alongside captain Martin Odegaard in a new No. 8 role in the upcoming season.

This midfield revamp could see Granit Xhaka departing for Bayer Leverkusen, while Arsenal remains open to the potential sale of Thomas Partey, with interest coming from Juventus and Saudi Arabia, as well as Albert Sambi Lokonga.

Additionally, Mohamed Elneny, who suffered a season-ending knee injury in January and underwent surgery, is currently sidelined.
