Jones and Rudolph finding a fit in Tampa

Julio Jones and Kyle Rudolph and finding their fit in Tampa Bay. It’s been over a week since Julio Jones and Kyle Rudolph signed with the Buccaneers. Training camp has started for the NFL and both players have started to create a connection with Tom Brady.

Before this season, Rudolph spent his first eleven seasons with the Vikings and Giants. Jones spent his first eleven years with the Falcons and the Titans. Both are excited about the opportunity to play with the Bucs as well as Tom Brady.

Jones was on the Titans for one season but was in and out of the lineup because of injuries. He was eventually released earlier this offseason. Jones revealed that he and Brady had conversations which ultimately led to him to Tampa. He and Brady talked several times and “were just communicating and feeling each other out.” Jones said it was probably a tactic of Brady’s, but it worked.

Winning the Super Bowl was a big draw

Rudolph has stated he joined the Bucs to win and possibly earn a Super Bowl ring. Jones and Rudolph both have impressive resumes. The only thing missing from them is a Super Bowl win.

“One of the top priorities they had was going to a team that they had a good chance of getting the ring and how they want to end their career,” General manager Jason Licht said.

Rudolph at this point in his career has nothing to lose and his signing helps boost the tight end room.

Jones has made some nice catches in training camp, which began this past week. Jones started practicing Friday and will be the third receiver if Chris Godwin is back for the start of the season. It will be exciting to see where the connection grows from this point. Rudolph has also been working on his connection with Brady and should be either the number one or two tight end during the season. Julio Jones and Kyle Rudolph are still finding their fit in Tampa. Both players will be expected to make an impact during the season.
