Jamie Vardy and Wilfred Ndidi don boxing gloves for lighthearted sparring session

Leicester’s push for a Champions League spot may be faltering, but Foxes stars Jamie Vardy and Wilfred Ndidi have proved they still hold plenty of fighting spirit.

The duo were filmed locking horns in a lighthearted sparring session at Leicester’s training base, with both donning boxing gloves to hone their speed and agility heading into the latter stages of the season.

And after the pair traded a series of punches, Vardy floored Ndidi with a sharp left hook – much to the amusement of his team-mate.

Brendan Rodgers’ high-flyers appeared set to challenge Manchester City for second spot after a formidable run of form, but their momentum has halted after collecting one victory in their last five league games.

A limp defeat at struggling Norwich was compounded by Kelechi Iheanacho’s stellar strike being ruled out by VAR for handball, before Jamal Lewis’; goal dealt the visitors another hammer blow on 70 minutes.

The Foxes boss demanded that his side now step up in front of goal, and frontman Vardy, who missed the trip to Carrow Road, was snapped being put through his paces by midfield enforcer Ndidi.

The humorous video was posted on Ndidi’s social media channels, and captioned ‘We will back stronger’.

And in the final few seconds, Vardy connected with a lightning jab and sent the former Genk star tumbling.

The Premier League’s joint-top scorer then raced out of the shot after dealing the damage, and struggled to contain his laughter.

Leicester will look to haul their top four challenge back on track against Aston Villa next Monday.
