Jalen Hurts: Eagles reward 1 good season with record-breaking deal

Daniel Jones and Prescott are now making $40M a year, and Jones is not even close to the level of Prescott.

Kyler Murray and Deshaun Watson are making $46 million per season. Watson has one playoff win, while Kyler Murray has only been in the postseason once and got beat by 25.

The main thing I am getting at here is that it does not matter who you have under center. If they have a proven track record. They will get paid.

Geno Smith got $40 million in overall guarantees, of which $27.3 million is fully guaranteed at signing.

Why do we fans have such difficulty just accepting that?

This league is about winning, and most of the highest-paid guys are at least giving their teams a chance come postseason time.

Make the playoffs first, then worry about the rest. Hurts now has his money, and next season, we should finally see the Cowboys vs. the Eagles with both him and Prescott playing.

The last time the Eagles paid big money for a quarterback, his name was Carson Wentz. Hurts is better than Wentz, but let’s see what the future has in store for the NFC East.

Washington is the only team in the division that needs their franchise guy. They are still searching for who might be that long-term answer.

The Cowboys very well could have their best roster next season since Prescott was a rookie in 2016. It is time to get the job done.

Dallas for the first time in a long time, got better in March.

They resigned nearly every crucial part of the dominating defense and added Stephon Gilmore and Brandin Cooks via trades.

They now head into next week’s draft as a team with no considerable weakness. They can take the best available player and go from there.

Look for them to grab a tight end and players to help bolster the defensive line.

I expect a wide receiver to come later (unless the perfect guy is there in the first round).

The few years will be fun between the NFC East. Who knows maybe we see all three teams make the playoffs again next season.
