The Jacksonville Jaguars had the most time of any team to find a new head coach.

That was because they fired Urban Meyer during his first season, giving the franchise a head start to find a new leader after that disastrous experiment.

Yet it is the final day of January and the Jaguars are still conducting interviews.

In fact, they are not even able to interview one candidate at this point.

Jacksonville reportedly decided they want to interview Los Angeles Rams offensive coordinator Kevin O’Connell.

The only problem is they didn’t put in a request at the proper time.

Now O’Connell and the Rams are in the Super Bowl, meaning the Jaguars have to wait until his season is over.

This is another epic disaster by the organization and actually waiting for O’Connell does not even ensure he will take the job.

Jaguars Are Messing This Up Again

What is going on in Jacksonville?

Plenty of fans have to be wondering the same thing since the team has had so much time to find a new head coach.

First, rumors emerged that Byron Leftwich was all set to take the job.

Then other rumors said he didn’t want it if GM Trent Baalke remained in charge.

Baalke appears to be safe, which likely rules out Leftwich.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter did reveal they also have another new candidate in mind.

Rich Bisaccia, who led the Las Vegas Raiders in an interim role this season, is getting a shot at the Jaguars job now.

The team began interviewing candidates weeks ago and somehow is no closer to a decision.

The longer this drags on, the more there will be top candidates flying off the market.

Yet it’s possible no perceived “top” candidates want this job at this point.
