Niall Huggins secures move to Sunderland

Despite many thinking Niall Huggins would be shipped out on loan for the current season, the Leeds academy graduate has instead secured a 4-year-deal with League One outfit Sunderland.

With chances at Elland Road few and far between at current, the 20-year-old versatile full-back will now ply his trade at the Stadium of Light in a bid to kick start his career properly.

And according to boss Marcelo Bielsa, the move makes plenty of sense;

“…In this case – (Luke) Ayling, (Stuart) Dallas and (Jamie) Shackleton play in his (Huggins’) position. He hasn’t got the chances to overcome these players at the club. If I keep him at the club rather than aid his development, I hinder it. If the youngsters are not here, there comes a moment they need to look for higher competition than the 23s because progress would be stalled.”

Dutch winger Noa Lang agrees to personal terms with Leeds

Leeds United looks to edge closer to securing a deal for Club Brugge KV’s Dutch U21 international Noa Lang this summer, after reports from Belgian outlet Voetbal Belgie claim that the Whites have agreed to personal terms with the young winger.

Lang would add a gifted young piece to Marcelo Bielsa’s core of attacking players, adding him to the likes of Raphinha, Jack Harrison, Hélder Costa, and Ian Poveda. But with the uncertainty around the long-term future of Raphinha given the wealth of interest that has come his way after a superlative season in 2020-21, Lang gives an immediate replacement already in house should Leeds part ways with the Brazilian spark plug at some stage.

The Rotterdam-native smashed 16-goals in twenty-nice Jupiler Pro League appearances for Blauw-Zwart last season, and his potential goal contributions that could be seen at Elland Road are exciting to consider.

Leeds target Matheus Cunha set to leave Hertha; Whites remain keen

A second Brazilian technician at Elland Road inside Marcelo Bielsa’s swashbuckling brand of football would certainly be seen as a welcomed addition by the Whites faithful, and former interest in Hertha Berlin’s Matheus Cunha could offer Leeds a chance to make a play at the Die Alte Dame forward.

Cunha, who has bagged 21-goals in 24-caps for Brazil’s U23 side, has already become unstuck in the German capital, and club sporting director Arne Friedrich has admitted the club cannot rule out a sale of the young Brazilian forward this summer according to Kicker.

Leeds would have to move quickly if any deal could be struck between both clubs and personal terms with the player agreed, however, with reports that Atlético Madrid is also keen on his services, which would certainly present a more enticing offer given their status as holding La Liga champions that have Champions League football on offer.
