Houston Texans Release Starting Offensive Lineman

The Houston Texans are making some roster moves before the start of the league year on March 15th. The team recently signed a former Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle. On Friday, the team decided one player won’t make the offseason roster for first-year head coach DeMeco Ryans to evaluate for next fall.

According to Field Yates with ESPN, the Texans released center Justin Britt. The move will clear $3 million in cap space for the 2023 season.

According to Over The Cap, the Texans have just over $38 million in cap space to use this offseason. The Texans will have some money to add talent to the roster to help get out of the NFL’s basement. The Texans will also benefit from owning the number two overall draft pick in April.

Britt was a former second-round selection by the Seattle Seahawks in the 2014 NFL Draft. Britt signed with the Texans in 2021.
