Houston icon Bun B endorses two San Antonio candidates in local election

Rapper Bun B is Houston through and through, but he has some things to say about San Antonio’s elections. 

Bun B jumped on Instagram Thursday to throw his support behind Teri Castillo and Jalen McKee-Rodriguez, who are running for District 5 and 2, respectively.

The UGK founder shared two posts by activist Shaun King, who has been using platform to promote to highlight candidates in different cities. He posted the photos to his Instagram story feature Thursday afternoon. 

Bun B also endorsed David Flores for Pasadena mayor. This isn’t the first time he’s dabbled in politics. Last year, he hosted a social justice discussion with a congressional candidate. He also performed during a drive-thru voting event in Houston last fall.

San Antonio’s early voting period is underway and will last through April 27. Election Day is May 1.
