Here is what you can expect for your next tattoo appointment

On Monday, Gov. Greg Abbott announced more businesses can reopen during Phase 2 of his “Open Texas” plan, allowing massage establishments, tattoo parlors and piercing studios to open immediately.

In San Antonio, several tattoo shops announced their reopening plans and dates. Deadlights Tattoo on the Northwest Side said on its Facebook page that it plans to restart operations by Friday. However, restrictions will be in place to help customers and the tattoo artists practice social distancing.

The local tattoo shop, located at 5418 Glen Ridge Drive, wrote that guests must wash or sanitize their hands before entering the business. Only clients are allowed into the shop until further notice. Walk-ins are welcomed, however, appointments are encouraged. Clients who enter the shop are not allowed to walk into other operating workstations or areas other than the bathroom.

At another local tattoo parlor, Ink Couture Tattoos, masks are required and customers will have their temperature checked upon entry, according to the shop’s Facebook page. Both of its locations (at 15717 San Pedro Ave. and at 7915 W Loop 1604 North Suite 108) reopened Tuesday.

Golden Rose Tattoo, located at 10540 Culebra Road, has reopened as well. Clients must have an appointment, its Facebook page stated.
