Miami Heat superstar has praised Davion Mitchell for bringing the speed and intensity that make Miami’s offense dangerous. As Antetokounmpo continues adjusting to the Heat’s fast-paced system, he believes Mitchell plays an important role in maximizing the team’s offensive potential.
Antetokounmpo highlighted Mitchell’s ability to push the tempo and create opportunities for his teammates, describing the point guard as difficult to keep up with even during games.
“He’s incredible, and he’s tough to keep up with. He goes so fast,” Antetokounmpo said in comments shared on X.
The two-time MVP explained that Miami’s offensive rhythm changes noticeably whenever Mitchell leaves the floor, particularly when rookie Ryan Conwell replaces him.
“You see the difference when Ryan comes into the game, and Davion is out; our pace kind of slows down,” Antetokounmpo said.
Although he acknowledged Conwell’s inexperience, Antetokounmpo emphasized that maintaining a relentless tempo could become one of Miami’s biggest advantages.
“That pace is dangerous. People don’t want to come in this gym and play with that pace,” he added, admitting that he previously disliked facing Miami’s demanding style himself.
Beyond his speed, Mitchel has also impressed Antetokounmpo with his awareness and willingness to involve teammates offensively.
“I love playing with him,” Antetokounmpo said, explaining that Mitchell regularly checks whether he has received enough touches.
The praise reflects Miami’s emphasis on building chemistry and trusting teammates within its new offense.
With the regular season approaching, Mitchell’s ability to maintain Miami’s tempo could prove essential. For Antetokounmpo, having a point guard who combines speed with an awareness of his teammates provides another opportunity to thrive offensively.
