HARRY REDKNAPP: Verdicts on Man United, Chelsea, Tottenham and rest of top four-chasing teams

Harry Redknapp knows what it takes to secure a top four finish having guided Tottenham into the Champions League during his time as manager.

The competition for third and fourth is tough and this season has proven to be no different with seven teams still refusing to give up hope of joining Liverpool and Manchester City

Manchester United and Tottenham have their injured stars back, Chelsea are full of confidence under Frank Lampard and Sheffield United still have an outside shot at it.

With that in mind, the former Tottenham, Portsmouth and QPR manager offers Sportsmail his take on how the teams in contention match-up for the run-in.

Leicester City

Position: 3rd Points: 53

Leicester deserve to finish in the top four.

I don’t expect to see them dropping out. Brendan Rodgers has done a great job and in Jamie Vardy they have the leading scorer in the Premier League.

Vardy will be hungry. He’ll want to finish the season as the top scorer.

Chelsea

Position: 4th Points: 48

They have done brilliantly to be up in fourth, having sold Eden Hazard and with a very young squad and won’t want to miss the chance now.

I expect it will come down to Chelsea or Manchester United for the fourth place.

Manchester United

Position: 5th Points: 45

I can see them improving.

Harry Maguire has made them better. Bruno Fernandes has made them better. Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford should be fit again.

This game is all about good players. I can see them pushing Chelsea.

Sheffield United

Position: 6th Points: 44

They’ve got spirit and togetherness and I like Chris Wilder’s style.

He deserves recognition for the miracle he has performed. He’s been positive in the lockdown and I see them coming back strong. I wouldn’t want to play them.

Wolves

Position: 7th Points: 43

I love the way they play: attacking football, well balanced, clever movement and good understanding.

Nuno has done a fantastic job and Wolves are another club to get their recruitment right.

They have brought in some real quality players.

Tottenham

Position: 8th Points: 41

Daniel Levy will be desperate for Champions League football.

It will give them confidence to have Harry Kane and Son Heung-min back.

They could go on a decent run, win plenty of games but they’re a long way back. They’d have to rely on others losing.

Arsenal

Position: 9th Points: 40

There’s a lot of work to do there for Mikel Arteta. They need to improve.

There’s still a gap between Arsenal and the other big teams. There are a lot of points to play for. But I don’t think they’re equipped to close the gap.

Tottenham are better equipped.
