Harry Kane should leave Spurs if they fail to make the top four, says Graeme Souness
Graeme Souness says Harry Kane should consider leaving Tottenham if Jose Mourinho’s side fail to beat Manchester City in the Carabao Cup or make top four this season.
Souness believes Kane’s ‘individual efforts have been world class’ and claims Tottenham are running out of ‘time to deliver collectively on what his contribution deserves’.
The Sky Sports pundit believes the England striker would ‘walk into’ the Real Madrid or Barcelona team but warns the ‘window of opportunity to do so while in his prime is not big’.

Having scored 214 goals in 324 appearances for Spurs, Souness says Kane should consider ‘calling his agent’ if Tottenham fail to pick up any silverware this season as his individual efforts deserve more.
Souness told The Times: ‘If they fail to do so (reach top four) or if they fail to pick up silverware, ie beat Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final next month, then Kane should be having a word with his agent about new employment.
‘Even if they beat City, he might still want to think about leaving. He turns 28 in the summer, and time is running out for Spurs to deliver collectively on what his individual efforts deserve. And those individual efforts have been world class.
‘Unlike some in the punditry profession, great is not a term I confer lightly on footballers but Kane has the right to be called that.

‘Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Manchester City — he would walk into the starting line-up of any of those teams. The window of opportunity to do so while in his prime is not big.’
Kane is currently second on the list of Premier League top goal scorers this season – having scored a total of 16 goals in 25 league appearances.
The England striker has also been tipped to surpass Alan Shearer’s record of 260 league goals as his tally currently equates to 159 goals.
As a result, Kane has been linked to several top-flight clubs this year. Both Manchester City and Manchester United have registered their interested in the Tottenham star.
However, Spurs have attached a staggering price tag of £150million to England’s best centre forward to avoid losing him at the end of the season.
That sum would make Kane – who is under contract at Spurs until 2024 – the third most expensive footballer of all time behind only the Paris Saint-Germain duo of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

Tottenham currently sit seventh in the Premier League table and will be back in action on Sunday against Arsenal.
