H-E-B to give away $20k in gift cards each week for Texas Loves Teachers Tour
H-E-B has something special planned for Texas teachers this year.
The grocery store postponed its annual Excellence in Education Awards gala due to the pandemic. However, the grocery giant is launching a Texas Loves Teacher Tour that will offer educators all kinds of goodies and freebies.
The Texas Loves Teachers Tour kicks off in San Antonio before caravanning across Texas in March and April, according to a release from H-E-B. The tour will visit 50 schools, school districts and early childhood education centers within 50 days, giving away $20,000 in H-E-B gift cards each week.

At each stop, the tour will host an appreciation event for school staff complete with H-E-B gift card giveaways, branded items, coupon books for free items and more. Tour stops were determined by public voting, the release noted.
In San Antonio, the tour will stop at Collins Garden Elementary (SAISD) on Monday and at the Dub Farris Athletic Complex (NISD) on Wenesday.
After the tour, the love for teachers doesn’t stop. H-E-B plans to give away $100,000 in cash prizes to educators throughout Texas during a virtual tribute gala on May 8. All Texas public school districts, teachers, and principals will be eligible to win, along with any early childhood facility. All can enter the random drawing at texaslovesteachers.com throughout the duration of the tour.
Since its inception in 2002, the H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards program has awarded more than $13 million in grants and prizes. The traditional H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards will return in 2022, celebrating 20 years of impact. Nominations and applications for the 2022 H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards are open now at heb.com.
