Group Of NBA Players Express Concern About Participating In Bubble

The NBA and National Basketball Players Association are agreeing on a plan that would allow players to stay home without consequences as there are a faction of players with concerns about entering the bubble. There were 40 to 50 players on and off a conference call in the past 24 hours discussing a number of concerns centered on the restart in Orlando.

There will be no visitors allowed until after the first round of the playoffs, which is nearly seven weeks after the opening of mid-July training camp.

Players are citing a number of concerns, including family situations, the inability to leave the Disney World Resort campus, COVID-19 and the implications surrounding the emergence of social justice causes in the country.

There have been concerns about how players will adapt to an environment of isolation, especially those on non-title contending teams.

Those players deciding against the Orlando resumption wouldn’t be paid for missed games.
