Grizzlies Inform Dillon Brooks They’re Not Interested In Re-Signing Him

The Memphis Grizzlies have informed Dillon Brooks they are not interested in re-signing him in free agency under any circumstances, sources tell Shams Charania of The Athletic

Brooks was informed of the Grizzlies’ position during his exit meeting.

Brooks’ first-round series against the Los Angeles Lakers was considered to be a breaking point. Brooks called LeBron James “old” and “tired” after Game 2, then punched him in the groin area in Game 3. Brooks also chose not to speak to the media after three of the losses in the series, resulting in a $25,000 fine by the NBA.

Brooks also struggled on offense during the series.

The Grizzlies made contract extension offers to Brooks early in the season, but those were rejected, sources tell Charania.

At the trade deadline, the Grizzlies pursued trades for both Mikal Bridges and OG Anunoby.
