Game Thread: Spurs at Mavericks

Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don’t troll and don’t swear too much.

Tuesday’s loss to the Lakers was a tough one, as the team couldn’t hold on through a series of tough breaks and questionable calls and the Lakers pulled out a win late. Russell Westbrook showed the positive side of his competitive nature against the Spurs, and the negative side on Wednesday against the Grizzlies. Had the two been reversed, it would have certainly been a win for the Spurs. Tonight, the Silver and Black are on the road against Luka Doncic and the 2-1 Mavericks. Although the Mavericks are favored, and have the best player on the court in Doncic, this is actually a good opportunity for the Spurs to pick up a win, because the Spurs have one of the best coaches in the league, and the Mavs have one of the worst. Doug McDermott is out tonight, so someone else will have to step with shooting. This could be the most fun game to watch since the Orlando opener. Tune and saddle up, Spurs fans!
