Game Thread: San Antonio Spurs vs Kings, the sequel

Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don’t troll and don’t swear too much.

The Kings ran away from the Spurs on Monday night by hitting just about every shot they looked at, and tonight they’re back in the AT&T Center, hoping to tickle the strings of the arena’s friendly hoops again. The Spurs are going to have play much better defense tonight, and it won’t be easy with Lonnie Walker IV still out with a sore wrist and with Gorgui Dieng not available yet after his signing on Monday. The same lineup that couldn’t get a stop a few days ago has to slow down the Kings sharpshooters tonight, with De’Aaron Fox and Buddy Hield getting open looks all night. I expect Dejounte Murray to step up his defensive effort, and for Derrick White to take a few charges, while Rudy Gay and Patty Mills will hit long-range shots. Will it be enough? The Spurs have been on a slide recently, losing 5 of they last 6 games, and they need a win tonight to have a chance of a winning record on their current 9 game home stand. Let’s all watch and find out if the Spurs can pull out a win against the Kings.

You can’t stop De’Aaron Fox, unless you put him in a box. He has to get past Derrick White, who always puts up a fight. Will it be a charge or a block? It depends on how much time is on the clock. Fox is fast as a cat, White has to be faster than that.

One final word:

Go Spurs GOOOOOO!!
