Game Thread: San Antonio Spurs at Los Angeles Lakers

The Spurs play in Staples Center again tonight against a different team, and hope for a different result

Same arena, different day. The floor is different, too, as the Spurs return to the Staples Center to face one of the top teams in the Western Conference. Tonight, they face the Lakers with LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Last night, the Spurs couldn’t hold up to a late surge from Kawhi Leonard as Paul George closed the door with a clutch shot that sealed the win for the Clippers. The Spurs will need another solid effort from DeMar DeRozan, and for LaMarcus Aldridge to continue to shoot well from range. Dejounte Murray and Derrick White will have to contribute more on the offensive end of the court. They’ve been defending well, but haven’t been scoring enough points for the Spurs to win games. Hopefully, Jakob Poeltl remembers to wear his jersey tonight, because he’ll be needed to defend the paint from Davis and Dwight Howard. The Spurs need to get better at finishing games, and tonight would be a good time to start doing it. Go SPURS GooOOOoo!!
