Fresh update on Tottenham’s plans for Nuno Espirito Santo
A fresh update on Nuno Espirito Santo’s position in the Tottenham Hotspur dugout has been forthcoming late on Sunday night.
Change incoming at Spurs?
The subject of the bench on the Lilywhite half of north London has of course proven headline news across the globe over the last 24 hours.
This comes on the back of the darkest day of the Nuno era thus far – a deserved 3-0 home defeat to a Manchester United outfit fresh off a 5-goal drubbing at the hands of Liverpool.

Result aside, the nature of the performance put forth by the hosts at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday quickly gave rise to calls for Nuno to be moved on, with a more attack-minded tactician to be installed in his place.
And though, initially, such a prospect appeared altogether unlikely, ensuing reports over the course of the day on Sunday have pointed towards Daniel Levy and co. now taking such a move into genuine consideration:
Talks ongoing between Daniel Levy, Fabio Paratici and whole Tottenham board to decide on Nuno Espirito Santo’s future, under discussion. He could be sacked but no decision made yet – and it’s gonna take some hours. ⚪️ #THFC pic.twitter.com/3TaXbAphUy

‘On the brink’
In turn, for those of a Spurs persuasion eager for the club’s boss to be sent on his way, tensions are no doubt building ahead of a presumably imminent announcement on the part of the board in the English capital.
If the latest word stemming from the media late tonight is anything to go by, though, then such supporters need not fret.
As per the reliable Matt Law of the Daily Telegraph, Nuno is ‘on the brink of the sack’, after a day filled with negotiations surrounding his future.
The ‘expectation’ therefore remains that a change will be coming in short order, with the Portuguese set to be sent on his way after just four months in charge.
My information is that Nuno remains on the brink of the sack tonight after a day of talks regarding his Tottenham future. Expectation remains a change is likely to be made #thfc https://t.co/u1aJc8dXxf
