Four free agents who could be good depth signings for Packers

The Green Bay Packers have developed into a good team this offseason. Their defense looks stacked at nearly every position. The offensive line is developing nice depth. Not to mention the bona fide stars who are getting healthy. They have one of the best running back duos in the NFL. Robert Tonyan is back and practicing. The wide receivers have developed into a competitive group. Even with all of that being said, there still remains a number of free agents who could help this team.

DE Trey Flowers

Trey Flowers has struggled to stay on the field lately. He has appeared in only seven games each of the last two seasons. That being said, he is a depth signing who could go a long way for any team. Being only 29 years old, it is still surprising no team has taken a chance on him yet.

The Packers have yet to identify a solidified third pass-rusher. Kobe Jones and Kingsley Enagbare have certainly shown flashes. However, having a veteran presence to bridge the gap for a season would make sense. The asking price would likely be well within the Packers’ range as well.

TE Eric Ebron

Eric Ebron is a nine-year veteran who has been extremely consistent throughout his career. He was a Pro Bowler in 2018 and has 33 career touchdown catches.

That type of production would be massive for the Packers’ tight end position group. Tyler Davis has been a disappointment so far. We are still not sure if Tonyan will be ready Week 1. That leaves Marcedes Lewis and Josiah Deguara as Week 1 starters. Ebron would be a big addition.

S Landon Collins

In a recent article for Bleacher Report , NFL writer Ian Wharton listed Landon Collins as the second-best NFL free agent under 30 left on the market. He listed the Green Bay Packers as one of the three best fits for Collins, along with the Chicago Bears and Pittsburgh Steelers.

With the extremely thin depth at safety for the Packers, Collins makes a ton of sense. Last season, Collins had 81 tackles, two interceptions and a forced fumble while playing in 13 games for Washington.

DE Jason Pierre-Paul

Jason Pierre-Paul spent the last four seasons with Tampa Bay, where he had 33 sacks, eight forced fumbles and two interceptions in 54 regular-season games. It is very surprising we are just a few weeks away from the start of the season and he is still unsigned.

If not Flowers, this could be the type of signing would be a perfect bridge/depth player.
