Former San Antonio Mayor Julián Castro joins NBC News, MSNBC as a political analyst 

Julián Castro adds another title to his resume.

On Monday morning the former San Antonio Mayor announced on Twitter that he will be joining the NBC News and MSNBC team as a political analyst. 

“Proud to be a part of the @NBCNews/@MSNBC team,” Castro tweeted. “I’m looking forward to sharing my perspective and hopes for the future at such a pivotal moment for our nation and for my home state of Texas.”

Castro, former housing secretary in the Obama administration and a 2020 Democratic presidential candidate, is no stranger to MSNBC. He’s taken interviews with them many times

On Monday, Castro talked about the voting rights and voter suppression in Texas. He says Texas Republicans know they’re losing their grip on power in the states, which is why they are trying to shave points by suppressing the vote.

“It must be stopped,” he tweeted.
