FA Youth Cup preview: Stoke City v United

United got off to a flying start in the third round, with a convincing 3-1 win over Crystal Palace. Max Oyedele and Manni Norkett put United in cruise control before the Eagles pulled one back through captain Freddie Bell. Sam Mather secured the win with our third goal of the night, ensuring safe passage to the next stage of the tournament.

Wednesday’s hosts enjoyed a comfortable win against Blackpool in the previous round, setting up a fourth-round clash with the Reds. Despite being held to 1-1 at half-time against the North West side, Stoke took things up a notch in the second half, putting five past their visitors and running out comfortable victors in the end.

Nathan Lowe scored a brace in that match, while Oliver Challinor and Jack Griffiths also got on the scoresheet for the Potters.
