FC Cincinnati have been below their usual standards compared to recent seasons across the ongoing 2026 MLS campaign, with the Orange and Blue facing a late fight to reach the playoffs.

An away day at Audi Field against foundering DC United came at the right time for Pat Noonan's outfit, with Evander looking to put an end to his difficult drought in front of goal.

The Brazilian would deliver a masterclass in long-range finishing to do just that.

One of the league's best-ever from outside of the box, the 28-year-old midfielder unleashed a dipping, unstoppable hit in the 35th minute to break the deadlock against the Black-and-Red in a way perhaps only he knows how.

It was Evander's first goal since August 22nd at home against Seattle, snapping a seven-match goalless run for a player who has, once again, been in the conversation for league MVP on the back of being one of just eight players in double figures in both goals (14) and assists (14).

Cincinnati may be a shadow of themselves this term, but any possible playoff run (should they qualify) will undoubtedly hinge on more Evander heroics.

An entry for Goal of the Week certainly will not hurt, either.
