Dan Orlovsky Compares Trevor Lawrence To Andrew Luck

Coming out of college, Lawrence was the consensus no. 1 overall pick. He was the most pro-ready QB we had seen in a while. The last one was QB Andrew Luck who was taken by the Colts. Orlovsky stated on Get Up this morning that Lawrence is starting to look like Luck did when coming out of college. He started right away and instantly made the team a playoff contender. Lawrence is looking to do the same. The Jaguars are through to the divisional round and have a chance to upset the Chiefs next week.

Comparison Has Merit

The big difference is the first year. However, their first years are not equal. Lawrence’s first year was stunted by the circus that was Urban Meyer. I literally think anyone else would have been better in that situation. Meyer will go down as one of the worst coaches in NFL history. This year Lawrence has a competent head coach in Doug Pederson and you already see the results. Pederson has been able to craft an offense that can score quickly and in bunches.

The Jaguars look to be contenders in the AFC South for years to come. Andrew Luck never reached the summit of winning a Super Bowl. Hopefully, Lawrence will be able to bring Jacksonville a championship before his time is up.
