Dietmar Hamann believes Jadon Sancho is ‘too good’ to stay at Borussia Dortmund for another season as the future of the England international remains clouded by uncertainty.
Sancho has shone at the German club since joining from Manchester City for £8million in 2017, scoring 34 goals and providing 43 assists in 96 games.
The 20-year-old has developed into one of the most sought-after talents in world football at Dortmund, with Manchester United long-term admirers of the attacker.

The Premier League club will be expected to pay at least £100million for Sancho, with BVB refusing to budge on the price set for their star man.
And Hamann, who spent part of his career at Dortmund’s arch rivals Bayern Munich, believes Sancho cannot wait another year to make his big move.
‘There will continue to be a market for the top players, like Jadon Sancho,’ he told Bild. ‘He’s just too good to wait another year.
‘I see him going to the Premier League. The most likely option there is Manchester United.’
The coronavirus crisis has lead to some clubs reassessing their spending powers in the transfer market due to the financial ramifications of the suspension of play.
Hamann said that he’d like to see clubs acting more reasonably in the market, although he added that in the case of the Premier League, he expects owners to continue pummeling money into their clubs.

‘It would be nice to see some reason there,’ the ex-Liverpool midfielder said.
‘Before the coronavirus crisis, last season, the 20 clubs in the league made a loss of around £600million. Perhaps smaller transfer fees and less salary will now be paid to players across the board.
‘Investors can dig into their pockets to make up for a deficit. Of course there is an absurdly high TV income in England, but the investors give the clubs completely new opportunities. That is why the idea of solidarity in the clubs is also different.

‘In the Bundesliga, players have waived their salary so that no one had to be fired in the offices. In England, the 20 captains got together and donated some of their salary to the NHS.’
Premier League football is set to return in just three days, with Manchester City hosting Arsenal while Aston Villa play Sheffield United. Liverpool are expected to wrap up the league title swiftly, and Hamann says it will be a shame not to see his former club celebrate with their fans.
‘Their lead in the table is too big,’ he added. ‘They’re playing in their own league this season.
‘The question is not whether Liverpool will be champion, but when. The only pity is that there will be no celebrations with fans who have been waiting for the title for so long.’
