Dele Alli to return for Spurs after Jose Mourinho U-turn on England international outcast

Jose Mourinho wants to bring Dele Alli back into the Tottenham first team following the closing of Transfer window.

Jose wants Alli back

It was widely believed that Dele Alli was certain to leave Spurs in the transfer window after hardly featuring under Jose Mourinho this season.  The player was heavily linked with joining up with his former boss Mauricio Pochettino following his appointment at PSG. However, no deal was done and Alli would then remain at Spurs for the rest of the season.

According to reports in The Telegraph today, the pair have met and there is an opportunity for Alli to contribute more regularly than had been offered to him previously.

The 24-year-old has only started one Premier League match this season and hasn’t been involved since the FA Cup win over non-league side Marine in January.

Alli disappointed not to make PSG Move

The Portuguese coach and Alli are said to have met up to discuss the welfare of the player who has barely figured this term. He was said to be deeply unhappy that the move failed to transpire after chairman Daniel Levy blocked it.

Injuries to Harry Kane and Giovanni Lo Celso may have impacted the decision and despite the emergence of Tanguy Ndombele this season, there is still a belief that Alli can contribute to the team.

Tottenham’s next opponents are Chelsea, whom Alli has a great record against, scoring a brace in both a home and away fixture in the past. His resurgence would be most welcome to a Spurs side lacking form heading into the big London derby.
