Dejounte Murray won’t let James Harden shove him around

Erik Williams-USA TODAY Sports

Murray doesn’t take any flack from Harden, who shoved him after a steal-and-layup.

The Spurs got out to a strong start against the Rockets, playing free, loose, and without a care in the world. The same couldn’t be said for James Harden, who got frustrated a after Dejounte Murray steal and lay-up to make it a 22-7 Spurs lead midway through the first quarter.

Murray proceeded to stand and wait to defend the inbounds pass, but that happened to be between a trailing Harden and the ball, leading to a little squabble between the two as Harden didn’t want to take the time to step around him.

The result was predictably a double-technical (and it really shouldn’t have required video review to come to that conclusion), but it’s good to see Murray or the Spurs not lay down to the self-proclaimed MVP-of-every-season.
