Cowboys owner Jerry Jones shouldn’t worry about who gets RB call

Memo to Jerry Jones: Stop making much ado about nothing.

Following Sunday’s 54-19 thrashing of the Colts, the Cowboys owner said he would have been much more lenient on running back Ezekiel Elliott, who did not start because of a small disciplinary infraction.

“There was a little issue he had [of a] phone going off (in a team meeting). I’d be a lot more lenient than that,” Jones said.

At his news conference Monday, Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy made light of Jones’ remark after a Dallas staffer’s phone rang. Asked if he would bench the individual, the coach said, “I would be more lenient.”
