Cowboys’ Mike McCarthy: Dak Prescott medically cleared for full practice

This is a huge step for Prescott. He hasn’t participated in a full week of practice since fracturing his right thumb in Week 1.

McCarthy wants him to redevelop chemistry with wide receivers. This will determine if he plays on Sunday against the Lions. “He’s just gotta get his timing back,” McCarthy said.

Consequently, the head coach added he will have Prescott throw “40 to 50 balls” during Wednesday’s practice.

If Prescott practices all week, demonstrating a solid rhythm, he will probably start on Sunday.

Prescott could reignite an offense that was ranked No. 1 last season. Through six games, it’s averaged 19 points per game, which is below the league average.
