Cowboys’ Michael Gallup: Dak Prescott ‘looks like the same old Dak’

Dallas Cowboys tight end Dalton Schultz said ahead of the Memorial Day holiday that quarterback Dak Prescott looked to be the same player of old during organized team activities coming off the compound fracture and dislocation of his right ankle he suffered in a home game against the New York Giants last October.

While gushing over the club’s offense, wide receiver Michael Gallup made similar comments about his QB1 during an appearance on NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football” on Monday.

“Dak looks like the same old Dak, ready to get out there, ready to be a leader,” Gallup explained, per Kevin Patra of the league’s website. “He just has that little thing to him. Every time you see him, you just want to make sure you’re doing everything right for him. He’s a great dude on and off the field, coming out here after his injury, after his contract. He’s the same old dude. Ain’t nothing changed about him except he just wants to play now. Props to him. Everything he’s done, he’s earned. Just an amazing player.”

The Cowboys signed their two-time Pro Bowl signal-caller to a four-year deal worth up to $160 million in March without knowing, for sure, how he’d recover after requiring a second surgery in December to strengthen his ankle. Offensive coordinator Kellen Moore said last Friday Prescott is “ready to just go play football” but added there have been limitations on what the 27-year-old can do and see during OTAs and workouts.
