Cowboys Lead The NFL In This Statistic For First Time Since 1994

The Dallas Cowboys have begun clicking on all cylinders in the last few weeks. After riding some really impressive defensive performances at the start of the season, the offense has started to come alive as the team has gotten healthier.

Dak Prescott is beginning to find his groove after injuring his thumb in the season opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and missing five games. Interceptions remain a bit of a bugaboo, but he has thrown for multiple touchdowns in five consecutive games with one more score coming on the ground.

Wide receiver Michael Gallup is also shaking off the rust since returning from an ACL injury suffered in Week 17 last season. He has at least three receptions in each of his last five games, catching two touchdowns against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 13 and becoming a nice complement to CeeDee Lamb.

Dallas is also getting excellent production from its backfield. Ezekiel Elliott has looked much better since returning to the lineup in the last three weeks. While still heavily involved, the Cowboys have expanded the role of Tony Pollard, who is a much more explosive option than Elliott and is a big play waiting to happen every time he touches the ball.

Pollard has received nine fewer carries than Elliot this season but has outgained him by nearly 200 yards as Elliott has 654 yards and Pollard has 852. Both players have scored eight touchdowns on the ground, while Pollard has added two receiving touchdowns, as opponents are struggling mightily to slow down this two-headed monster in the backfield.

What this uptick in offensive production has led to is the Cowboys blowing teams out. Dallas has scored at least 40 points in three out of their last five games. After scoring only three points in their season opener, Dallas has scored at least 20 in 10 out of 11 games.

What that has resulted in is the Cowboys currently owning the largest point differential on the season. They are currently +127, just ahead of the Buffalo Bills who are +124. This is the first time since 1994 that the Cowboys are leading the league in point differential through 13 weeks.
