COVID-19 updates: Bexar County officials reported 269 new confirmed coronavirus cases on Wednesday and one new death as the virus continued to spread across the region at a heightened pace.
The county’s death toll from COVID-19 now stands at 90.
The new confirmed cases bring the total for Bexar County since the start of the pandemic to 5,142.
Judge Wolff’s order: A spokesman for Gov. Greg Abbott’s office said Wolff’s workaround is all right by Abbott — leaving the door open for other counties to take the same steps. “Judge Wolff’s order is not inconsistent with the governor’s executive order,” Abbott spokesman John Wittman said.
H-E-B masks requirement: H-E-B worked closely with Wolff on the order, spokeswoman Dya Campos said Wednesday, and plans to once again require masks in stores when the order takes effect Monday.
