“The Machine” is showing some love to the Alamo City. During a Wednesday, March 16 episode of the Bertcast podcast, comedian Bert Kreischer donned a San Antonio Flying Chanclas baseball cap as he, and fellow comedian Trevor Wallace, told stories from the stand-up comedy world. Kreischer is performing two shows at San Antonio’s Majestic Theatre on May 13.

The Flying Chanclas, the alter ego of the San Antonio Missions, started in 2018 for the Copa de la Diversión. It was a series to celebrate Minor League Baseball’s Hispanic fans and communities with teams transforming into Hispanic-themed alter-egos.

The Missions are less than a month away from Opening Day, but appreciated the shoutout on Kreischer’s show.

“Thank you for supporting the Flying Chanclas!” the San Antonio Missions tweeted, posting the photo of Kreischer in the cap.

Kreischer, known for his shirtless stand-up routines, is performing at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on May 13. The first show is sold out, but tickets for the 9 p.m. show can be purchased here.

The Missions’ season begins at the Corpus Christi Hooks on April 8, with their home opener scheduled for April 12 against the FriscoRoughriders.
