Colin Cowherd adds fuel to Tom Brady comeback rumors

Colin Cowherd sounds unconvinced quarterback Tom Brady will stick with his second playing retirement this year. 

As shared by the Barrett Sports Media website and Brandon Contes of Awful Announcing, Cowherd questioned Brady’s broadcasting future with Fox during Tuesday’s edition of “The Herd with Colin Cowherd” program. 

“Somebody I trust outside of this building at Fox told me a couple of weeks ago, they said, ‘I don’t think Brady’s going to be a broadcaster any time soon. I think he wants to play,'” Cowherd explained. 

Cowherd added that Brady setting multiple single-season records during the 2022 campaign is proof that the 45-year-old “can still sling it.” 

Brady told Cowherd last month he was taking a “gap year” away from football before making the move to Fox in 2024 via a 10-year contract reportedly worth $375 million. However, multiple insiders have linked TB12 with the San Francisco 49ers this winter, and NFL Network’s Rich Eisen raised eyebrows when he said on Monday that he heard during the combine that the Miami Dolphins could be a landing spot for Brady this spring or summer. 

While speaking with Cowherd in February, Brady had an opportunity to slam the door shut on un-retiring for the second consecutive year. Per Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, the seven-time Super Bowl champion instead offered a non-answer:
