City Handed Potentially Massive Boost In Battle To Sign Erling Haaland This Summer

Real Madrid may have to pull out of their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland due to financial reasons, according to Marca:

The Madrid-based newspaper claims that the impact of the global health crisis means Real may have to change their priorities in terms of the transfers they are pursuing.

Haaland has been identified, along with PSG’s Kylian Mbappe and Rennes’ Eduardo Camavinga, as the three main targets for the summer transfer window but, with little revenue coming in, Marca report Real may have to set their sights lower.

If that is true, it would massively improve Manchester City’s chances of signing Haaland. The Norwegian is reportedly one of three possible candidates to replace Sergio Aguero who, as things stand, will leave on a free transfer at the end of his contract in June.

Chelsea and Manchester United are also believed to be keen on Haaland, though, so Real’s potential exit from the race doesn’t mean there won’t be competition for the 20-year-old’s signature.
