The Texas Representative is demanding that the Democrat apologize to Senator Ted Cruz

Texas Rep. Chip Roy is once again making headlines for throwing himself into drama, this time between Senator Ted Cruz and U.S. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Roy released a statement in the form of a press release on his website Friday, calling for Ocasio-Cortez to resign after she slammed Cruz for his actions before the insurrection after he agreed with her on her tweet calling Robinhood’s recent actions unacceptable.

Roy says the congresswoman accused Cruz, in essence, of attempted murder by denying that President Joe Biden won the presidential election, leading to an insurrection at the U.S. Capitol that put her life at risk.

Politico Congress reporter Olivia Beavers tweeted an image version of the call to action when it was first released.

This isn’t the first time Roy has thrown himself headfirst into the flames of controversy.

Over the holidays, the U.S. representative made it clear the pandemic wasn’t going to limit him, saying “I will do whatever I want to do on Thanksgiving.”

In an April 2020 interview with right-wing radio host Mark Levin, Roy compared COVID-19 orders to Nazi Germany. A month prior to that, Roy deleted a March 2020 tweet that mocked coronavirus relief.
