Chelsea have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Manchester City star Gabriel Jesus and are also interested in signing his team-mate Raheem Sterling.

Both players are entering the final years of their contracts at the Etihad Stadium, with Jesus expected to leave the club after the arrival of Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.

The Evening Standard have reported that Jesus’ representatives are exploring all available options to him, with the Brazilian sounding out a number of clubs before making a decision on his future.

Chelsea could look to sign both Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus during the summer window

One of those clubs is Chelsea, who have been offered the opportunity to sign Jesus, whose agents have already held talks with Tottenham and Arsenal.

The Gunners’ interested is said to be the ‘most concrete at this stage’ with Mikel Arteta seeking a reunion with a player he worked closely with while on Guardiola’s coaching staff.

However, as reported by Sportsmail, Arteta is growing frustrated by Arsenal’s indecision in the market.

The north London club, who were pipped to a place in the top four by bitter rivals Tottenham, are insisting that all major transactions are approved by the American ownership, which Arteta fears could cost them the chance to sign top transfer target Jesus.

The Brazil striker was made available for transfer almost two months ago and Arsenal were quick to register their interest, but have yet to commit to meeting City’s £50million asking price or open talks over personal terms with the 25-year-old.

The Evening Standard’s report also states that Chelsea are interested in a move for Sterling.

Reports suggest several European heavyweights increasingly feel Sterling is open to leaving the club – despite not yet revealing his intentions about his future.

According to The Sun, Chelsea want to sign Sterling for around £60million – but the player wants guarantees from manager Thomas Tuchel that he will not be left warming the bench.

Sterling, who joined City from Liverpool for around £49m in 2015, wants to play regularly to improve his chances of being selected in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the World Cup in Qatar.

His contract at the Etihad expires in 2023, meaning Pep Guardiola’s side could sell him this summer to avoid losing him for nothing, but the club may demand as much as £50m-60m for him.

The 27-year-old, who wants to have a key role in a team challenging for trophies, admitted in October he could leave due to a lack of playing time, and paused talks with the club about his future to see if the situation changed.

Despite starting 23 of City’s 38 league games last campaign, he was on the bench for several key matches, including both legs of their Champions League semi-final defeat by Real Madrid.

The signings of forwards Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez, plus more game time for Jack Grealish in his second season, could further restrict his playing time.

Chelsea are in the market for a wide forward, with Tuchel set to receive major backing from new owner Todd Boehly.

The American is ready to sanction a spending spree worth as much as £200m, with the Blues in particular need of reinforcements in defence following the departures of Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger.

They could, however, also be searching for a striker should Romelu Lukaku return to Inter Milan on loan.
