Gallagher in exclusive Premier League club

Chelsea loanee and Cobham academy product Conor Gallagher continues to prove he has what it takes to be an influential figure in the Premier League after scoring once again for Crystal Palace in their 1-1 draw at Brighton tonight.

The goal was his seventh of the season and his joint-best goal return (level with his time at Charlton Athletic) during his many loan periods away from Chelsea still without earning a single appearance in the top flight of English football for the Blues. But courtesy of OptaJoe, the impressive finish in the second-half saw him join two other London-based youngsters in an exclusive group this season as Gallagher is now one of only three players 21-years-old or younger to have ten direct goal involvements in the 2021-22 league campaign.

Gallagher joins Arsenalhttps://www.101greatgoals.com/news/as-nld-inches-towards-postponement-arsenals-latest-trio-of-injury-concerns-revealed-after-liverpool/ duo Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka as the only players to achieve that marker, yet the Hale End academy pair have already cemented their place in the first-team under Mikel Arteta while the Epsom-native has failed to break into the Blues setup regardless of the man in charge at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea future uncertain for England international

Despite his success this season under Patrick Vieira at Selhurst Park, Conor Gallagher may never be granted a chance to show his qualities in Chelsea blue but could well be given a chance elsewhere after rumors have begun to circulate that a Premier League rival could target the England international.

Manchester United remain interested in bringing Mauricio Pochettino to Old Trafford after Ralf Rangnick’s interim posting comes to an end at the conclusion of the current season, and should the Red Devils grant the Argentine manager a return to the Premier League, Gallagher could be on the shopping in the red half of Manchester.

Pochettino is rumored to be a fan of Gallagher with links in previous transfer interest from PSG providing a possible clue in how he would look to rebuild the United squad if he took up the new charge.

With the Red Devils desperate for long-term central options, Conor Gallagher could certainly fit the bill under a manager who has previously proven his willingness to give opportunities to young players.
