Chelsea ‘lining up £85m move for Leon Bailey with Liverpool, Man Utd and Arsenal also interested’

Chelsea are reportedly lining up a move for Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey for in the region of £85million.

Jamaican international Bailey, who has scored seven goals in 22 appearances in all competitions this season, is also attracting interest from Premier League trio Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal

While Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are also keeping an eye on developments with Bailey, who has three years left on his contract, Leverkusen would prefer to sell to a non-German club, according to The Express.

The report details that Chelsea scouts were particularly impressed by Bailey’s performance against Rangers last week.

The 22-year-old was a standout performer against Steven Gerrard’s side in the Europa League at Ibrox, scoring the third goal in a 3-1 first-leg victory.

With Brazilian winger Willian out-of-contract in the summer, Lampard is looking to strengthen his squad and attacking options.

Bailey broke onto the scene at Belgium club Genk, where he played for 18 months.

He then moved to Leverkusen in Germany in January 2017 for £18m and has played 105 times for the club.

Despite his good form this campaign, he has been sent off twice in 2019-20 for violent conduct.
