Chelsea are ‘closely monitoring’ Man United goalkeeper Dean Henderson

Chelsea are keeping a close eye on Sheffield United loanee goalkeeper Dean Henderson after his impressive performances this season, according to The Mirror

Frank Lampard has dropped Kepa Arrizabalaga in favour of Willy Caballero this year for a number of games, despite Chelsea paying a record fee of £72million for him in 2018.

Although he is not making any decisions yet, with Kepa out of favour and Caballero now 38-years-old, Chelsea are likely on the look out for new options.

According to The Express, Chelsea are looking at Barcelona’s Marc-Andre Ter Stegen as a potential replacement too, and have also been scouting Andre Onana and Gianluigi Donnarumma.

The Catalans’ shot stopper has reportedly fallen out with club talisman Lionel Messi, and could be on the move this summer.

Lampard is said to be a big fan of Henderson, who is out on loan at Sheffield United from Manchester United.

The Englishman is valued at around £25million, and has just a couple of years left on his contract.

Henderson has kept 10 clean sheets while at Sheffield United this season in the Premier League, just one behind Burnley’s Nick Pope, who has also emerged as a Chelsea target.

Henderson’s future is currently uncertain, as he is currently behind David de Gea in the pecking order at Manchester United, however the Spaniard is once against being targeted by Real Madrid.

On the other hand, Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder has expressed his desire to keep Henderson on for another loan spell.

The 22-year-old is currently making a push to be included in the England Euro 2020 squad.
