Manchester City take on RB Leipzig in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie at The Etihad on Tuesday evening, with the clash finely poised at 1-1 on aggregate.

One month after Josko Gvardiol cancelled out Riyad Mahrez‘s first-half opener at the Red Bull Arena, Pep Guardiola‘s side are set to resume their pursuit of the one major trophy that has continued to elude them.

In light of the mouthwatering match on Tuesday, Sportsmail’s JACK GAUGHAN takes a look at where the game will be won and lost.

CENTRAL MIDFIELD

Leipzig pack the middle of the pitch and break with pace centrally, with Amadou Haidara integral to that.

Rodri will need to remain vigilant to countering if City are turned over.

ERLING HAALAND VS JOSKO GVARDIOL

The Croatian defender earned more plaudits after the first leg, when he marshalled Haaland well.

All of Europe’s top sides are monitoring his progress and this is another audition.

CITY’S LEFT SIDE

Guardiola has options, either play a back four or three, but either way they have to be careful of the direct Hungarian Dominik Szoboszlai off Leipzig’s right and not leave themselves exposed.
